Her professional debut was at the Warsaw Chamber Opera where her roles included Norina in Donizetti's "Don Pasquale"
and Rosina in "iIl Barbiere di Siviglia".
Next year Ewa enchanted Bonn and Vienna with her role Queen of the Night in Mozart's "Magic Flute".
After moving to France, she performed in the Paris Opera, L'Opera Comique, Le Theatre du Chatelet,
Le Theatre des Champs Elysees, Des Amandiers Theatre in Nanterre and Parisian Bastille Opera in the Bob Wilson's
"Magic Flute" production.
Although Mozart's music was her primary interest, Ewa demonstrated her great diversity and vocal abilities in different roles.
Her repertoire included : Antonida in Glinka's "Ivan Susanin", Celia in Mozart's "Lucio Silla", Gilda, Rosina, Semiramide,
Adina in "Elisir d'Amore", Haendel's Alcina, Stravinsky's Le Rossignol, Massenet's Manon, Madleine in
"Postillon de Lonjumeau", Olympia in "The Tales of Hoffmann" and Marie in Donizzetti's "La Figlia del Reggimento".
Ewa made a very successful debut at the Gstaad Festival in Mozart's Mass in C Minor conducted by Yehudi Menuhin.
At the Montpellier Festival, she sang in the concert version of "Montezuma", a baroque opera by Graun, and also performed in
the original version of "Ariadne auf Naxos" by R. Strauss.
Cities like Parma, Bologna, Vienna also hosted Ewa's concerts. In Rotterdam she performed in spectacles conducted by
James Conlon.
She did not escape the attention of Americans who invited her to sing the role "Queen of the Night" in the Houston Grand Opera
in Texas.
For many years she has been maintaining close liaisons with the New York Metropolitan Opera, were she performed in
roles such as: Adine in Donizetti's "Elisir d'Amore", as Marie in "La Figlia del Reggimento" and "Lucia di Lammermoor".
She also embraced the role of heroine in Rossini's "Semiramide", and sang in Gounod's production of the "Romeo and Juliet" in
New York and later in Tokyo and Yokohama with the Metropolitan Opera's musical tour of Japan.
She was chosen by director Patrice Chareau and conductor Sylvain Cambreling for the role of Celia in the remarkable production
of "Lucio Silla", this was seen at the Theatre des Amandiers in Nanterre - Paris.
Ewa performed many times in Radio France Festival in Montpellier and the Festival of Baroque Music in Beaune.
She has been acclaimed "outstanding" for her role in the incarnation of "La Fée" in Massenet's "Cendrillon", the Turin's
Teatro Regio production under direction of Bruno Campanella and Robert Carsen.
Georges Pretre casted her in Debussy's "Le Martyre de St. Sebastien", which she sung in Rome, Palermo and Cagliari.
With BBC Orchestra she made a tour of Milan, Palermo, Brussels, London and Lisbon performing Stravinsky's "Nightingale"
(Le Rossignol) staged by Pierre Boulez.
In Warsaw National Theatre, Jose Cura and Ewa Malas sang arias of R. Strauss, G. Puccini, G. Verdi, V. Bellini,
Ch. Gounod and C. Graun.
In Madrid, Ewa performed in Debussy's "Le Martyre de Saint Sebastien" conducted by Lorin Maazel, than she toured
Spain again and Switzerland singing, among others, R. Strauss's "Last Four Songs".
A worldwide recognition earned Ewa Malas-Godlewska - her feminine voice casting in Gerard Corbiau's film "FARINELLI".
The soundtrack from this Oscar nominated movie sold over two million copies.
IFrench Minister of Culture handed her the "Golden Record" soundtrack award in Cannes.
The Haendel's aria from this movie - "Lascia Ch'io Pianga", sung exclusively by Ewa, reached No. 1 position on the French
popular music list.
Ewa has published several interesting Records since her Farinelli adventure.
She appears in the role of Armida in the first worldwide recording of the N. Jommelli's opera "ARMIDA ABBANDONATA",
under the direction of Christophe Rousset.
Her next artistic endeavor yielded a sublime "EWA" and "FUEGO" albums in cooperation with the Neapolitan guitar virtuoso
Umberto Leonardo, using intimate sounds of Spanish origin.
She recorded "WITAJ GWIAZDO ZLOTA", a collection of Christmas compositions with musical arrangements by Krzesimir Debski
and Grzegorz Turnau.
She recorded also two albums: "ERA OF LOVE" and "SONG of LOVE" with Jose Cura, a crossover of classical and pop music.
POLISH RADIO introduced Ewa’s album “Sentiments”- Ewa Malas-Godlewska, Polskie Radio S.A./Fonografika (Polska klasyka).
Record contains classical songs in English, French and Polish with elements of pop, jazz and classical crossover, with musical arrangements made by Adam Sztaba and Krzysztof Herdzin.
For "Sentiments" Ewa Malas-Godlewska received a prestigious "Ace of EMPiK" Statuette. This award was presented by EMPiK
as the best of 2006 Polish classical CD productions.
